Serving our students the most healthy and top-quality meal is our primary objective. Nutrition Standards are the foundation of federal school nutrition programs and have recently been updated to reflect the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Nutrient Standards consist of the required food components, levels of calories and key nutrients. Our menus are planned to support the new guidelines. Products and recipes are used to prepare foods that taste great and are lower in saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol and sodium. We offer whole grains, fruits, and vegetables in the appropriate portions for each age range. Menus are planned using the Food Based approach in compliance with the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs.

What our meals DO provide:

  • Whole Grains served almost daily (Whole grain buns, rolls, Pasta, pizza dough, and breakfast items)
  • Fresh Fruits and Vegetables served daily
  • Dark Leafy Green Vegetables / Red-Orange Vegetables served at least twice weekly
  • Legumes( Beans) served at least once per week
  • Locally grown produce when in season and available
  • Vegetarian option offered almost daily
  • Reduced fat cheeses, dressings and spreads offered in appropriate portions
  • Only 1% and Skim milk served
  • Lower sugar, higher fiber cereals

What our meals DO NOT provide:

  • High sugar content products
  • Fried Foods (All products are baked)
  • Desserts are not served within our meals other than special occasions
  • No Added Trans Fat products
